The CPP Equestrian Team is devoted to offering Cal Poly Pomona students opportunities to develop their horsemanship skills, regardless of riding experience and limited finances. Horse ownership is not a prerequisite to joining, however it is highly encourage and experience is necessary to show at the start of your first year. We are currently and will continue to have lessons at an outside facility called Sycamore Canyon Equestrian Center. We will also host shows at external facilities and not at W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center. A successful student on our team shows a serious commitment to the team and lessons. We currently have lessons from two amazing Western and Hunt-seat Coaches that provide their horses for lessons and shows. Placement for the Competition team will be at the beginning of each semester before add/drop and are a requirement for everyone who wishes to compete. This is to help place riders as well as make sure everyone on the competition team can compete at least once and is safe when getting on new horses. Volunteering is also a huge part of what makes our team work and is a responsibility of both showing and competing members.
